Meet the new faces of the 2025 legislative session

A list from the “Washington State Standard” gives some of the new faces in the Washington state Legislature:

The upcoming legislative session will see high levels of turnover among Washington state lawmakers.

Following the retirements of longtime legislators, a few redistricting switch-ups, and some departures for higher office, there will be new faces in 29 seats.

Some are familiar, as many new senators are former House members. Some are returning after a term or two off. Others are completely new to the process. https://washingtonstatestandard.com/2025/01/02/meet-the-new-faces-of-the-2025-legislative-session/

Since this article, Vandana Slatter moved from the House to the Senate in the state Legislature on January 7th after the King County Council appointed her to replace Patty Kuderer. The council also approved Osman Salahuddin as Slatter’s replacement in the state House of Representatives.

Replacements for Senator Joe Nguyen, 34th District, and Rep Tana Senn, 41st District, are yet to be announced. Their new positions are effective January 15.
