November is National Family Caregivers Month
On October 27, 2023 Washington State Governor Jay Inslee joined with President Biden in signing a proclamation declaring November 2023 National Family Caregivers Month. Not sure if you’re a caregiver?
Take this quiz to find out:
If you checked yes to any one of these boxes above, you might be a caregiver! Many people who answer yes to the questions above do not see themselves as caregivers so they don’t seek out supports and services available to them through Washington’s caregiver programs. Especially now, these programs can provide a little extra support so the folks we care for can remain at home for a longer period of time. If you are providing support for a family member we encourage you to visit the Washington Community Living Connections website. There you can find contact information for your local Area Agency on Aging. Area Agencies on Aging can help you with resources, such as the Family Caregiver Support Program, and help you get access to other tailored supports and services that are available free of charge for family caregivers. |
