Groups sue to protect salmon by enforcing limit on 6 pesticides

Several fishing and conservation groups are suing the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for failing to limit the use of six agricultural pesticides to protect salmon.

A lawsuit filed in federal district court in Seattle Monday alleges the EPA has not taken action on measures that NOAA Fisheries Service called for in 2008 and 2009.

The service found six pesticides threaten the survival of several species of salmon and steelhead in the West.
